Editorial Committee

The NAINA Editorial Committee develops and oversees the organization’s official publications, including the NAINA Newsletter, Souvenir Journals, conference proceedings, and special editions. The Committee ensures that all published work reflects NAINA’s mission, vision, and commitment to professional excellence, cultural competence, and ethical scholarship

Mission

The Editorial Committee establishes publication standards, manages the peer-review process, and supports chapters and members in disseminating scholarly work.

Goals

  • Launch an annual electronic peer-reviewed journal
  • Promote professional growth and nursing excellence
  • Showcase interdisciplinary and culturally competent research
Responsibilities

  • Makes recommendations toward a strategic plan.
  • Solicit and publish news and articles for the peer-reviewed journals – electronic version every odd year and in addition to the electronic, a commemorative journal to be released at the biennial conference.
  • Sends publication materials to the website committee.

Dr. Nisha Mathews

Ph.D., RN

Dr. Nisha Mathews is an assistant professor of  nursing at the University of Houston- Clear Lake, Texas. The immediate past chair of the Research/ Grants Committee of the National Association of Indian Nurses of America (2023-2024), Dr. Mathews, currently serves as the chair of the Editorial Committee of the National Association of Indian Nurses of America. Dr. Mathews is a Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing Academic Leadership Academy Scholar. Dr. Mathews is the recipient of the 2024 Sigma Theta Tau International /American Nurses Credentialing Center Evidence-Based Practice Implementation Grant. Dr. Mathews is one of the grant recipients and champions of ANA/CDC Project Firstline: American Nurses Association Infection Prevention and Control Content Dissemination Funding Opportunity.
